Franklin, WI (March 6, 2007) – R-Zilla™, a brand of reptile products produced by Central Garden & Pet®[NASDAQ:CENT], is proud to announce that the R-Zilla Combo Dome featured at the 2007 Global Pet Expo was awarded Best In Show under the Reptiles category in the Global Pet Expo Best New Product Showcase.  Global Pet Expo is the pet industry’s largest annual tradeshow making Best In Show one of the most coveted awards in the industry. 

The 4,500 buyers, who attended Global Pet Expo, were asked to vote on 800 of the best products entered in the New Product Showcase.  Of these products, the American Pet Products Manufactures Association and the Pet Industry Distributors Association named the top three best new products selected for each of the 11 categories.

The R-Zilla Combo Dome holds the new Desert 50 fluorescent bulb, which provides 50 microwatts at 12” of UVB output.  This helps reptiles achieve proper health and bone development from both UVA and UVB light.  The fixture also holds one halogen bulb that provides radiant heat required to support many herp environments.  The cutting-edge design incorporates an external toggle control to direct the R-Zilla halogen heat bulb on basking areas or where needed.
